ABOUT US

Guinea Bissau is a small country located on the Atlantic coast in West Africa. The nation won its independence from Portugal in 1973 but remains one of the most impoverished countries in the world. The community potentiality infrastructure in Guinea Bissau is a complex issue as more than two-thirds of the country’s nearly two million people live in poverty. Today, Guinea Bissau struggles with the provision of three critical, quality-of-life services:  Healthcare, education and clean drinking water; international aid could provide the country with an opportunity to modernize and expand these systems.

The Dos Santos Foundation was founded to develop Guinea Bissau’s potential in these arenas, endeavoring to build state-of-the-art hospitals, point-of-care community health clinics and primary schools. The Foundation also aims to continue collaboration with Stateside partners to bring portable, in-home water filtration kits to the country’s citizens.

OUR VISION

Our vision is that everyone has access to quality, compassionate healthcare, first-rate education and clean drinking water, resulting in changed communities and transformed lives.

OUR MISSION

Our mission is to improve the quality of life for the people of Guinea Bissau by providing fundamental community resources that remain virtually non-existent in the country. Through strategic partnerships, we aim to develop and support a vital, modernized community-centric infrastructure that supports access to healthcare, access to education and access to sanitized drinking water as its foundation.
